A great many SOTA activators and hillwalkers have come to appreciate the comfort of a Bothy Bag. The idea is simple and yet it's amazingly effective. Even in the coldest conditions jumping inside a Bothy Bag gives you a significant improvement in temperature in just a few minutes. When it's windy, the difference can be enormous. I measured 13 degrees improvement recently where the putside temperature with windchill was minus 8c and it was plus 5c inside the Bothy Bag in the same location. There is no need to sit freezing on a hillside with a Bothy Bag in your rucksack. We are proud to supply a respected product that is made in England.

For the solo activator we recommend a two person Bothy Bag. For two-person parties we recommend the four-person Bothy Bag. If you activate with children or a non-radio partner consider getting them a Bothy Bag. My experience is that it makes activations a whole lot less stressful.

Even if you never intend using your Bothy Bag you should consider carrying one at all times. It is reassuring to know that you have effective shelter with you where ever you are. A Bothy Bag could save your life!
