Recently, we have had reports of occasional problems with Paypal checkout. We are currently looking into it. Most Paypal orders work fine, but a small number do not, and there does not seem to be any particular pattern to it.
In such cases, our website is likely to give an error message along the lines of "We're experiencing difficulty processing your transaction. Please contact us or try again later.". This means that checkout has not been completed, no payment has been taken, and the order has not yet been placed.
Paypal will sometimes work if you make another attempt later, or you could try one of the following:
- Select the 'pay by card' option during checkout. This will allow you to pay by card, and the payment will be taken through Stripe (a secure payment processing platform) instead of Paypal. This means that it will not be affected by any problems with Paypal.
- Or if you would like to use Paypal, please email us with details of what you would like to buy and we can send you a Paypal invoice. Since this is done outside the normal checkout system, it is unaffected by problems with Paypal checkout.
- We can take orders and card payments over the phone.
- We can accept payments by bank transfer (in GBP, EUR, or USD), please contact us for details if you would like to do this.
If your order was successful, you should receive a confirmation email.
