Antenna Wire Winders Pricing is per Winder (1)

Video: Wirewinders from SOTABEAMS

I have spent years searching for the ideal way of winding up antenna wire for use in the field. These special winders are just about perfect! Lightweight and with an elastic fastener to secure the wire, they are quick and easy to use.

Wire winders ensure tangle-free aerials and rapid deployment - perfect! Great for SOTA, caravanning and DXpeditions!

Use a figure-of-eight winding technique which helps to ensure no kinks in the wire.

We recommend three winders for a dipole fed with RG174 (one for each half of the dipole and one for the co-ax and back guy). Two winders are usually adequate for a dipole fed with RG58 (cable coiled separately).

Each winder weighs 1.25 oz (36g). Length 24.5 cm (9.75 inches).

Recommended Accessory

If you are making antennas using our Wirewinders, consider investing in one of our rugged antenna bags - designed for use with Wirewinders.

    Untangle Your Life!

Posted by Phil Stephenson on 5th Mar 2018

These little wire winders from Sotabeams are elegantly simple but prevent the aggravation of tangled messes when you're out in the field erecting your antennas. I purchased multiple of them in different sizes to keep antennas and coax ready to be deployed in the field without the hassle of untangling every three feet when you attempt to manage wires any other way. If you're completely cheap I guess you could make them but they are reasonably priced, color-coded and ready out of the box. A real no-brainer.

    Easy Winders

Posted by Gary Kirk on 16th Dec 2017

I recently built an interesting dipole (wire from sotabeam) and needed it to be light weight and easy to deploy wen portable. I have in the past had all sorts of tangles and knots so I wanted an easy and cheap way to store my antennas. I bought these winders and I have never looked back. Easy to wind, easy to unwind, nice and light and good quality. All my wire antennas are now on these winders and makes life so much easier.

    Best Wire Winders Ever

Posted by Unknown on 26th Oct 2017

These wire winders the best thing since sliced bread. Be sure to view the Sotabeams video about them to get the most from them. I have recommended these to several ham friends and they all are amazed and pleased with how well they work. They have thought of everything with these winders. They make it so much easier to deploy wire antennas, counterpoises, guy ropes, etc. Keep spares handy. You'll think of many uses for them.

    go bag

These wonders make it much cleaner when traveling with several antennas. I even keep my throw line wrapped on one of these which makes it much easier to deploy when time to raise my antennas.

    Great winders

Posted by Wallace MM0AMV on 11th Aug 2017

These winders are the dogs b******s. Bright colours so they will not get lost in the grass, and they seem to be pretty tough and durable. I guess I could have made something that would have done the same job, but for the money these are unbeatable. Definitely be getting more of these.

Should be the industry standard for antenna winders

Posted by ron childress on 5th May 2017

I've looked for these winders everywhere and this seems to be the only site I can purchase them without the need to buy the entire antenna, or a stunt kite. The material is not brittle, but it is solid, and pliable enough to bend slightly under accidental stress if needed. It's a longer wait coming from across the pond, but well worth the patience! Buy them!

    Better than I expected

Posted by Bill, N3JIX on 21st Apr 2017

Not only does this works well to keep the wire stored nicely, I was surprised how quickly deployment and cleanup happen once you get into the winding and unwinding rhythm. I liked it so much, I bought a second one just to have around.
