PowerPole® Modular Connectors Shack Pack
***There are a lot of fake connectors about. We sell only genuine Anderson PowerPole® connectors.***
12 red shells, 12 black shells, 24 contacts
These connectors have quickly become the standard for DC distribution at home and in the field. Their clever design means that they will only mate one way round while each connector is sexless. Brilliant! Powerpole connectors are easy to fit and can be soldered or crimped. They are perfect for use in the shack or portable. Large orders will be sent as a bulk pack.
Don't risk destroying your radio by using crocodile clips or "banana" plugs.
Our Shack Pack consists of 12 red shells, 12 black shells and 24 contacts.
- black housings (Anderson PowerPole® part# 1327G6)
- red housings (Anderson PowerPole® part# 1327)
- 30 Amp plated copper solder/crimp contacts (Anderson PowerPoleV part# 1331)
From time to time people ask me for roll pins for PowerPole® connectors. I have never used then and I don't stock them.
Why? Roll pins are NOT RECOMMENDED by the connector manufacturer.
The ARRL discusses them here.
Read what a reviewer says:
"[Roll pins] sound like a great idea until you try them out. The roll pins are so rigid and the plastic housings are so (relatively) flexible that instead of the roll pin compressing, the two housings spread apart slightly to accommodate the pin. This makes the pinned connector pair a little harder to connect to a pair that is not pinned due to the slight spacing mismatch. They also don't feel like they'll stay in place super reliably. If one comes loose, you've got a nice little conductive piece of metal bouncing around near your electrical equipment. That's a recipe for a really bad day if the pin finds it's way into anything with a circuit board. Other than trying one or two out initially, they're all sitting in the bottom of a box somewhere. I've never had problems with connectors coming apart anyways."

What can be added to comments about these?
Easy to assemble and use, these are a boon in the shack and elsewhere.
One pointer, avoid using the roll pins to secure the two sections instead use a a touch of cyanoacrylate glue.
Anderson could put some more thought into brackets or holders for these to be mounted onto a panel, the small metal parts are some what expensive and only suitable for one set of contacts
Excellent product. I deal for power to TRX etc.
Decided to change all my DC connections to these, ideally you need to get the correct crimper. Makes for a quick change for me when i want to go from a power supply to a battery for my Transceivers.
Much less frustrating than playing hunt the power cable. Simple to fit and simple to use. Do yourself a favour and get the bespoke crimp tool. Does a solid and professional job.
Ive used these in the past, and knew they were excellent units. I didn’t want to buy some cheap copy which might let me down on a hillside or away from home, so bought from a trader I trust to sell the ‘real deal’.
Ordered these to do some boat wiring. With the accompanying crimper, getting these connectors on was really easy to do; some of my wire is lighter than the terminals are designed to hold, so a double crimp was in order - passed the pull test, so I'm happy!
Haven't deleved deeply into the relative merits of different manufacturers of these connectors but trust SOTABEAMS' advice that these are the real deal (I refrain from other analogies related to bits of canine anatomy...). They certainly look good quality and that being the case the price is very reasonable. Will advise if my shack burns down.... :-)
easy to work with, good product.
Excellent value for 12 genuine 30A power pole connectors. I also have the crimp tool which makes a first class job of termination DC connections. WIth smaller gauge wire I double up the centre conductor and lightly solder the connection for added machanical security.
