Heavy Duty Antenna Wire  Dark Green (50 metre, 164 ft or 100 metre, 328 ft )

The Heavy Duty version of our popular Green wire. This heavy duty wire has a stranded tinned copper conductor and a UV-stable  PVC jacket. It is ideal for making permanent antennas. The 50 metre reel size is perfect for making most HF antennas (such as an 80m dipole). We also sell 100m reels.

The green cable jacket colour is unobtrusive in many applications - perfect for antennas, radials and counterpoises. With a resistance of less than 1 Ohm/50 metres, it's great for high power use too!

***ONLY AVAILABLE FROM SOTABEAMS***

This wire is manufactured in the UK to our own specification.

Antenna Wire - Heavy Duty - 50m - Military Green

Good strong wire, made various antennas from it. It stands up to abuse and bad weather conditions.

    HD Antenna wire

Sturdy wire, convenient length, nearly invisible against the sky unless you know exactly where to look. Just the job!

    Strong and good quality

Posted by les norton on 7th Jul 2018

Second time ive bought this wire from Sota, the first wire i put up was a bit short, i have just had a new roof fitted and wanted to make a bigger inverted v shape end fed and as the scaffold was still up i managed to get to the chimney stack during the work (thanks guys for leaving up the scaffold) Used an egg insulator so that the wire could slide through in the wind and attached that to a short pole on the stack. Looks well and almost used the full length. I know its strong and good quality from the last batch i used.

Heavy Duty Antenna Wire Military Green (50m)

Posted by Will GM0HKS on 11th Mar 2018

I ordered this product as I was wanting to build a W3DZZ antenna. Fast delivery and well wrapped. The antenna uses 2 x 7Mcs traps to facilitate 80 metre operating. The traps are fairly heavy and I have not noticed any significant stretching of this multistrand wire. The colour helps it fade in to the background too so, all in all a very good product. My W3DZZ works a treat without an ATU on 40 and 80 metres so its been a no brainer for me. Thanks Chris

    Great for stealth antennas

Extremely fast delivery to the US. Thank you! I'm very impressed at the small diameter of this wire. It's hard to see unless one is looking for it, which is great for discerning neighbors. I was also impressed with its power handling capability (1,,000 watts) as there are times when I need QRO to make a contact. Being insulated, I was also able to hang it in trees without worrying about it making contact with branches. I definitely recommend it.

    Excellent Wire!

Posted by Nick on 5th Oct 2017

I bought the Heavy Duty variety to build an inverted L random wire antenna as I thought it would stand up to the elements a bit better. Also with a larger diameter wire that means more metal in the air which I figured can only be a good thing. The increased weight does put more tension on my mast but so far it seems to be fine and not too saggy. It is also thin enough to pass through the gap of my UPVC window frame (which I did initially before building a 9:1 UnUn and drilling a hole through my wall!). When I build wire antennas in the future I would certainly use this again.

My first order from Sotabeams. Ordered this cable and I'm very happy with the quality of the cable and the speed of delivery. Will be using Sotabeams again for sure. Thank you
